I realized I haven’t put up a mix CD in a while (an Easter mix I made never made it to the blog…), so here is the first of two summer mixes. This first one is “Ain’t No Cure for the Summertime Blahs - A Soundtrack for Your Summer.” You should probably play it non-stop until September.
I tried to capture the fun of summer with a lot of upbeat, hope-filled songs, from the past to the present, from the obscure to the well-known. The next summer mix CD, which should be out soon, has more searching, road trip-styled songs.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the mix, and give me your comments.

I love that you included Five Iron Frenzy.
They were so amazing! I was talking to a friend about new cd artwork we are making and I pulled out upbeats and beatdowns and I was like “This is hear just because I like happy music!” Good call on the summer sampler idea. It’s sunny in Oregon and this makes me happy.

Yes, Five Iron is amazing.
Overall, great mix! I’ll be listening to these all summer long!

Yeah, Five Iron was the first “Christian music” I ever listened to. I still pop their albums in every now and then, after all these years. They had all the energy, fun, goofiness, and wit that you could ask for in a ska-punk band.

I thought I’d never see a Christafari song in your blog =P

Upbeats and Beatdowns is great. I can’t believe its been over 10 years since that released. I am getting old.

Are you kidding? I went through a phase where all I listened to was Christafari and other Christian reggae. Well, more what happened was I listened to the few Christafari albums I had over and over for a year.
There’s nothing like reggae.

Jesse Sprinkle is great. I’ve got an interview with Aaron over here: http://truetunes.wordpress.com/2008/05/14/aaron-sprinkle-interview-july-2002/

I do indeed have more Geology songs, Kyra… Perhaps one day, if you all behave yourselves, I shall share them with you. Perhaps…
